Originally I had a trip planned to London/Bristol, but decided very last minut (week before departure) that after all those winter months I needed a little sun :). Found a cheapy return flight from my hometown Oostende to Barcelona, so the choice was made quickly.
What on the so called “to do list”? Village of Penelles (Street Art festival), discovering Zaragoza and getting lost in Barcelona. Don’t expect photoessays about overcrowded Las Ramblas ( and overrated… is it so unique?) or Sagrada Familia. Let’s start with Parc de L’Espanya Industrial ( designed by the Basque architect Luis Peña Ganchegui). Once a textile mill known as La España Industrial, now a green public space with an urban architectural touch. Yes, definitely a place that appeals to me, far away from the touristic noise of Barcelona. No selfiestick guru’s on duty, but just locals enjoying their freetime and kids having fun on the slide of a giant dragon sculpture (designed by Andrés Nagel).
