Street Art is transient, unfortunately, and we also noticed that during this year’s edition of The Crystal Ship . Some murals from the previous editions were replaced by new ones (and they are awesome!). One of the murals that has disappeared is a Pixel Pancho artwork (first edition The Crystal Ship) on the side wall of Tea Room Georges, located on corner of the pedestrian shopping street Adolf Buylstraat and Christinastraat.

Marina Capdevila was the artist who was chosen to repaint the side wall of Tea Room Georges. I passed it a few times while she was painting, and I was not immediately charmed by her work, but I think the end result is fantastic (especially when viewed from a distance). I really love the nice vibrant colors and the humoristic touch. The hidden message in her artwork Cheers From Ostend Beach is a protest against the excessive consumption of plastic we are doing nowadays. A popular and widely used subject by many artists. Stunning creation! Thumps up for Marina Capdevila:)!

    1. Yes indeed, and there so many different styles (check out my newest blogpost.. 3D Street art by Leon Keer) and influences, often political inspired (not my thing…). Thanks for passing by. Gr Stef
