I am Stef, alias, “OstendNomadography”. I’m in my mid 30’s, born in the Belgian coastal town of Oostende (Ostend). I consider myself a lonely ranger, with and without my camera.
Oostende is always inside me. As a proud patriotic citizen, on my blog you will see the beauty of my hometown too. I hope it inspires you all to have a visit to my lovely city. It could be a nice combination with Bruges only 25km further, wouldn’t it? Would you like information about my city? It would be my pleasure to help you out!
What is the aim of this blog? After many years on Facebook, sharing my pictures I’ve snapped while on my holidays and adventures, I’ve had a growing interest in photography. I started to see photography differently, from a nice memory to a more artistic view. I had the impression that I ‘needed’ something else. A community more focused on traveling, photography and much more.
I wanted to be inspired and inspire others. About one year ago, in March 2016, I thought, “Why not give it a try on WordPress?” I’ve already changed the theme a few times, colors and such. I’m finding my way and still enjoy the blogging world to the fullest. My goal is to create a visual journey through my adventures.
A side note, my native language isn’t English, but Dutch. I ask you please forgive grammatical and spelling errors.
Next to traveling and photography, my interests are in military history, Urban Art,National Geographic, Discovery Channel and recently: Netflix:). As well as soccer, my favorite teams: KV Oostende and West Ham United.
Thank you for dropping by my blog.
Hi Stef,
Really like your photographs! They are quite impressive. I’m a writer with just an iPhone, but I know how important visuals are to a blog. I love checking out photographers’ blogs; they inspire me!
Michele
Thanks Michele for your lovely words! WordPress is a great thing
am much enjoying your great site 🙂
Thank you so much:).
..interesting though I am no photographer, but I do fancy photos smartly taken as they say more than a thousand words. I have enjoyed my trip to Brussels; loved the country.
Interesting intro and about – and blog. I will follow you on your travels.
Thank you so much Leya

You too !!!
Nice to meet ya!
Nice to meet you too Houstonphotojourney:)!
Thanks for coming to my blog:) I grew up in Zeeland, so Belgium was very close, and visited several towns and cities in Belgium – the modern art museum (Henri Moore) in Antwerp was one of my favorite places to visit. Dus je bent bijna een landgenoor!
Zeeland, not so far from my hometown Oostende:). Plans to return here for holidays? Long time ago you have been here? Greets Stef
We were there in 2013 in the spring, in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and a few other places to visit friends:) The holidays (meaning Christmas time) is more attractive to me now here, since we lived for 30+ years in California, but it’s always nice to go back to Eur. in the summer! Great to see your travel blog:)
There’s some lovely scenery in the UK too, if you come this way!
You got me interested. See u around.
Thanks a lot Bojana:)! Welcome to blog and enjoy. If you have any questions, shoot:)!
I surely will. Later…
Because of the title of your blog, I figured you were from Oostende and I know that’s the Flemish part. I am from Nederland (Zeeland) but having lived here for 30+ years, my Dutch goes very slow, so I hope you don’t mind my English:):)
Yes,indeed, Oostende is the Flemish part, and close to Zeeland:). Thanks for passing by Jesh:).
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Hope to see more photographs of your journey. 🙂
