Santa Luzia, without a doubt one of the nicest and most beautiful discoveries of my Portugal trip a few weeks ago. Santa Luzia was one of the places I encountered during my long pleasant walk from Luz to Tavira. It is such an authentic place, famous for its octopus catch where it is very busy in the morning. Supplying the local market and restaurants waiting for the fresh catch. Some of the fishermen were still working on their boats, probably longing for a well-deserved afternoon nap. Unfortunately, I was only there in the afternoon, and the city had turned back into a sleeping relaxing city. But the tranquility, the view of the harbor, just the sound of nature is pure magic for me and maybe even coming home a bit. I am a kid of the sea, born in a coastal city where the fishing industry has always been an important part of my city. #LoveSantaLuzia

  1. I love the nautical theme to the buildings. These are lovely doors. I appreciate your sharing the meaning they hold for you.

    1. The blue accents are so perfect. The weathered building(s) are the fisherman’s huts where they store their nets and other stuff. Very authentic. Glad you like my door images of this week. Gr Stef

  2. I look forward to your doors every week because the selection is always outstanding and presentation brilliant. These are all winners.

    1. Glad you like my doors:). It’s indeed a typical authentic charming fishing village. The traps are specifically for octopus(the black ones)
