The pictures I share with you today were taken 2 weeks ago, when we saw the first snowflakes fall down here in Belgium. An ideal opportunity to learn how to use my new camera (Sony 7ii) and 2 new lenses (Sony FE 90mm f2.8 Macro & Tamron 28-75mm f2.8). Photographing snow is actually not that easy: we want the snow to be white, and not gray/blue, if we rely on the automatic settings (white balance – exposure) of the camera. After reading many useful tips about “how to photograph snow” on various websites and blogs, it was time to enjoy a photo walk in my neighborhood and the nearby located Maria Hendrik Park.
I am relatively satisfied with the result of the photos: I used the right settings, and I didn’t have to adjust very much in post-processing. And most importantly: I had a lot of fun to photograph in these winter conditions.
