Here is my ( a bit too late:) ) round up of the Street Art festival Kaleidoscope curated by Björn Van Poucke (curator of The Crystal Ship Street Art Festival in Oostende). In the city center of Torhout you can admire now 2 large scale murals, painted by the London-based artist Ben Slow, the young talented Belgian artist Joachim and Helen Bur was also present with her Little People Series interventions. At various locations in the city she portrayed the residents in miniature form on the facades of their own house. After her passage at The Crystal Ship in Oostende, Torhout has now gone wild from her Little People Series.

Monumental Work by Ben Slow

Ben Slow is an artist from the UK, known for his large-scale, almost photo-real (Black / White) murals that focus primarily local personalities. Onhis finished wall, we recognize Father-Rector Leon Catrycke and nurse Sujit ‘Su’ Povijit.

The easiest way (for me) was catching the bus line 51 Oostende Station-Gistel-Eernegem-Torhout Station. Duration: 1 hour. If you are based in Brugge/ Bruges, I advice to catch the train to Torhout (change in Lichtervelde).

The locations are very walkable and on a short distance from each other. I printed an online map provided by the Municipality of Torhout (click here). If you are an avid street art hunter, the Streetartcities application can’t be missed on your mobile phone. A local contributor updated the map of Torhout already (website: https://torhout.streetartcities.com).
