Last week we had a long weekend in Belgium (Assumption Day), and indeed, it’s a perfect moment to make short trip not too far away. This year I had to make it even more low-cost (or at least try) because I have other financial priorities (renovation works). But I was lucky! A few weeks ago I told my mum … weekend 15th of August, everything is so expensive (I am not used to travel in July / August, first time ever in my worklife that I have off these days). My mum came up with an excellent idea: why not going together on a trip? With our camper? What about the landing beaches in Normandy (France)? Utah Beach? Omaha Beach? Visit that village were paratrooper John Steele landed on the pinnacle of the church? My mum knows that I am very interested in war history… . I didn’t even have to think about it. Yes! I am totally in! Our last trip together was about 10 years ago to Berlin… . I took an extra day off and on 14 August we have set sail towards Sainte-Mère-Église, our chosen starting point for our Normandy experience. On my blog, you can expect doors from Sainte-Mère-Église, Grandcamp-Maisy and Port-en-Bessin for the next 3 weeks . Let’s begin with Sainte-Mère-Église. Thanks for reading and have a lovely day:).

This is my entry to Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge
